Picking Weekend @ Twin Falls
March 15, 2016Grab your guitar and get to the rugged mountains of Southern West
Virginia!
On March 18-20, Twin Falls Resort State Park will host an unforgettably melodic weekend getaway.
You’ll start off in a workshop, where award-winning guitarists will show you a thing or two about strumming like the pros. Instructors include West Virginia flat-picking guitar legend Robin Kessinger, 2-time national flatpicking champion Robert Shafer and singer-songwriter Jim Ritchey, whose writing credits include “Tennessee Bottle,” recorded by Kenny Rogers.
On Friday, the 3 musicians will perform for you before jamming with participants and presenters. Saturday will begin with workshops on flatpicking, fiddle tunes, swing music, voice accompaniment and blues. You’ll cap the day off performing an open-stage concert.
Throughout the weekend, there will be plenty of free time for you to jam with other talented music lovers. Relax at the outdoor pool or take a scenic hike for some inspiration.
This workshop is great for everyone– from those just starting out to skilled pickers looking to improve their craft.
