Juneteenth Event
June 17 - June 19
Juneteenth celebrates the end of slavery in America and honors the nation’s enslaved forebearers.
9am – 10am
Saturday June 17th from 9am to 10am join for prayer and flag raising at Hunters Cemetery and join the “Connie McKeaver” Freedom Walk at 10am across from Stratton School.
12-5pm
Continue at the New River Park, free hot dogs, entertainment, shirts for $10
June 18th at 5pm an organized an Old Fashion Card Party will take place starting at the Beckley Woman’s Club, 202 Park Ave. For a fee of $12.50, attendees will be treated to a brisket dinner with all the fixin’s.
Monday June 19th’s event will be held at the Graney Memorial Park in Mt Hope with live performances.
