Historic Fayette Theater Playwriting Workshop

May 21 @ 6:00 pm 8:00 pm

Embark on a creative journey through the heart of Appalachia with our exclusive series of playwriting workshops at the Historic Fayette Theater, held on Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. throughout the months of April and May.

These workshops offer a unique opportunity to explore the art and craft of playwriting while delving into the soul-stirring essence of Appalachia. Whether you’re an aspiring playwright or a seasoned wordsmith, these sessions are designed to inspire, educate, and ignite your imagination.

Over the course of the workshops, participants will immerse themselves in dramatic storytelling, from crafting compelling characters to shaping evocative dialogue.

Participants will work towards a common goal: the creation of a series of 10-20 minute plays that capture the essence of the New River Gorge area and its surrounding Appalachian landscape. These plays will serve as a celebration of the region’s cultural heritage, its natural beauty, and its vibrant communities. The workshop series will culminate in a festival May 24-26th, 2024, where these captivating works will be brought to life on stage.

Join us at the Historic Fayette Theater and become part of a storytelling tradition that spans generations. Workshops open to all Fayette County and surrounding area adults. Don’t miss this chance to be a part of something truly extraordinary. Reserve your spot in our playwriting workshops today and embark on a journey that will leave a lasting legacy in the heart of Appalachia.
