Dying To Try That: Funeral Foods from Appalachia and Beyond
October 26 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Join Carnegie Hall for a lively discussion of the history and tradition of funeral foods, from Appalachia and around the world. We will discuss – and sample- old-world and new-world recipes, including sin-eater cakes, Viking funeral bread, midwestern funeral potatoes, and more.
This is a lecture followed by a buffet, so bring your intellectual and gastronomical appetite! The string band duo Rural Felicity (Howard and Toni Ogden) will provide West Virginia graveyard music while you dine.
