An Afternoon of Jazz

First, enjoy the Vince Lewis Trio. Vince Lewis is a veteran jazz performer, composer, and recording artist. He has been a headliner on Jazz Festivals with Dave Brubeck, and B.B King. He has taught at the post-secondary level for 48 years, conducted Jazz Guitar workshops, and created courses in improvisation and other jazz-related subjects at the University level. His chord melody arrangements for solo guitar appeared regularly in Just Jazz Guitar Magazine. Vince currently serves as Adjunct Professor of Music and Guitar at Bluefield College in Bluefield, VA
Then hear him with the WV Jazz Orchestra. The West Virginia Jazz Orchestra was formed in 2000 by Joe Buttram, Peter Hill, & Gary Williams and quickly selected Jeff Bryant as their music director. The group is made up of 21 performers who play mostly music from the Big Band era. The band has two vocalists and performs locally for a variety of occasions.
Hear them live Sunday afternoon, Sept 24, 2023, at 2:30 pm at the Woodrow Wilson High School Auditorium, Beckley, WV. Lobby doors open at 1:30 pm. Admission for just this performance is $20, at the door or online. Also, you may join BCA for the entire season (adults $50 or seniors $45).
