WV Wines – A Taste of Summer

Although the end of spring is weeks away, you can get a great taste of warmer months with a sip from one of Southern

Daniel Vineyards Award Winning Wines

WV’s three wineries.

Kirkwood Winery, located north of Summersville, WV, offers a long list of wine offerings – including their famous Concord Stomp (used during their annual September grape stomping festival) and Red Currants (a tart yet fruity reminder of summer).  The winery just reopened for the season and their wines are available throughout the region and on their website.

Right outside of Beckley, WV, Daniel Vineyards offers tastings Tuesday – Saturday year-round on an expansive landscape.  The estate’s Blackberry variety is a top seller and provides a sweet reminder of the summer months yet to come.

The area’s newest winery lies in Greenbrier County at Watts Roost Vineyard.  This refreshing new offering includes wines made with grapes grown only on the premises.  And it shows.  Their Chambourcin Reserve and Blackberry are wildly popular and can be sampled in their new tasting room.

Whether you’re planning a visit or planning a gift, the love of wine seems to be universal. As universal as our love of long summer days.
