Deborah Diane Lester/Jamie Lester
Debbie Lester was born in Oceana, West Virginia, and has been a fine artist since 1983. She lives in Shady Spring, WV. She considers herself self-taught but has taken workshops with Seay Earhart, Frankie Wheeler, Pat Lusk, Fred Graff, Joe Miller, Alvaro Castegnet.
Debbie is a past president of Beckley Art Center and West Virginia Watercolor Society and a juried member of Tamarack since 1996.
Jamie Lester lives in Morgantown, WV. Lester was born on September 7th, 1974 in Oceana, West Virginia, a small mining town in Wyoming County. After graduating from West Virginia University in 1997, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, he formed Lester Sculpture, specializing in figurative works through sculpture, paintings, and other art mediums.
His professional career began post-graduation and he has been successfully
self-employed for over 25 years. Pivotal moments in his career include designing
the obverse side of the West Virginia State Commemorative Quarter, sculpting over 40 larger-than-life monumental figures, and thousands of bas reliefs.
An opening reception will take place on Friday, August 6, 2021, at 5 p.m. in conjunction with Lewisburg’s monthly celebration, First Fridays After 5. Free admission.
