Beckley Kids Classic Festival

Beckley’s Kids Classic Festival 2023 Schedule:
Monday, Sept. 4 (Labor Day): Beckley Little League: Home Run Derby (ages 8 & up, $5) registration begins at 5:30 pm, derby starts at 6 pm (rain date: Sunday, Sept. 10, 4 pm)
Tuesday-Saturday, Sept. 5-9: Leisure Lanes – One free game of bowling & shoe rental per child when accompanied by a paying adult, 10 am–9 pm, call for lane availability at 304-253-7328.
Tuesday, Sept. 5 – Raleigh County Library – 4-6 pm – Kids Creation Event – Painting class ages 6-12 (register to attend, only 20 spots) from 4-5 pm; LEGO building competition until 6 pm
Tuesday, Sept. 5 – Story Walk / Scavenger Hunt with McDonald’s on the McManus Trail, 5-7 pm, begins near Prince Street Trail Shelter
Wednesday, Sept. 6: Beckley Art Center 4-6 pm, Visit the Art Center (TBA)
Thursday, Sept. 7: The Pottery Place painting party, 5 pm, $10, only 25 spaces, pre-register in-person or call 304-253-8777
Friday, Sept. 8: Youth Museum & Exhibition Mine, 6-8 pm, FunnyBones Magic Show & Balloons 6-7 pm at the amphitheater; Inside Youth Museum: New exhibit: Sound Sensation, + Planetarium Show; Exhibition Mine tours; Admission for inside the Youth Museum & the Mine Tour = $5.
7 pm – Stinky Cheese Man youth play by the WV Collective at The Raleigh Playhouse & Theatre, Neville Street.
Saturday, Sept. 9: Kids Fest Street Fair-10 am–2 pm – Booths, games, fun activities & food vendors along Main & Fayette Streets, Federal Plaza/Shoemaker Square area.
-Beckley Fire Dept.’s Junior Firefighters Challenge
-United Bank Carnival Showcase (game band = $5 to play games, $5 to spin the prize wheel)
-Sakura Mankai Café – Free Read Aloud books + Storytime at 11am & 1pm
-WV WIC offering free fruit/veggies stand
-Festival Parade at 11 am – Characters/mascots, bagpipers, bands, dancers, teams, royalty … Youth welcome to wear costumes (Theme: Animation/Cartoons) in the parade.
-Cincinnati Circus – shows at noon and 1:15 pm – Federal Plaza.
-12:30 – Ronald McDonald Show, Heber Street, with 103CIR
-2:00 & 7:00 pm – Stinky Cheese Man youth play by the WV Collective at The Raleigh Playhouse & Theatre
Hamster Races at Pet Supplies Plus parking lot, 3 pm
