It’s Fair Time!
“If it feels like fun, it feels like fair.” That’s the motto at the West Virginia State Fair this year, and it’s going to be so packed with excitement that they added an extra day to make the fair last through the weekend of Aug. 23.
This year the fair is a full 10 days, kicking off Aug. 14. Gates open at 9 a.m., and every day is packed with fun competitions, demonstrations, performances, thrilling rides and your favorite tasty fair food.
In addition to bull riding, you can also be amazed by the BMX Motorcross. After the traditional twilight racing you’ll be able to see the Marshall Tucker Band and The Bellamy Brothers. Food vendors feature fair favorites like corn dogs, funnel cake, candied apples, kettle corn and more.
Blue ribbon competitions run the gamut from flowers, to crafts, art, food and animal husbandry. With divisions for juniors and adults, there’s a wide range of skills and styles to enjoy. You’ll have to check out the full variety of rides from wild to mild, to take in the full view make sure to go for a spin on the big ferris wheel.
