Fallout 76: Visit the Real-Life Southern West Virginia Locations
On November 14, a number of Southern West Virginia icons will take center stage when the new Fallout 76 game is launched. The latest release in the popular Fallout series is set in post-nuclear West Virginia and features a number of prominent places that you can visit in real life. According to the game developer Bethesda Game Studios, Fallout 76 includes six West Virginia regions. Check out some of the confirmed (and rumored) highlighted areas below.
The New River Gorge Bridge
When the Fallout 76 trailer was unveiled in June, there was one familiar site that stood out – the New River Gorge Bridge. While the bridge looks like it hasn’t fared the nuclear apocalypse very well, it is still standing proud. To get a similar view of the bridge, head down into the Gorge to Fayette Station to see the bridge from below. The blue and yellow bi-plane from Wild Blue Adventure can also be seen in the trailer, but it’s looking a little worse for the wear.
While you’re in the area, check out the fantastic restaurants, shops and attractions in Fayette County.
The Greenbrier Resort
Given the post apocalyptic theme of Fallout 76, it’s only suiting that the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs is featured in the game. The site of a formerly top secret bunker for the U.S. government, The Greenbrier Resort is still standing in Fallout 76. Visit the resort and check out some of the great restaurants and stores in Greenbrier County.
Speculated Locations
Other rumored Southern West Virginia spots featured in the game include Summersville Lake, Summersville Lighthouse and the Greenbrier Chapel. Check out other confirmed West Virginia locations in the game and be on the lookout for even more after the game launches in a few days!
