White Oak Rail Trail Expo @ White Oak Rail Trail

The White Oak Rail Trail Expo will take place from 8am to 4pm, The trail will be lined with vendors, organizations, services, fund raisers, concessions, flea markets, yard sales, etc.  Live local entertainment. A great way to spend the day with family.

10-mile Bluestone Turnpike Hike @ Pipestem Resort State Park
Jun 3 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Start hiking at 10:00 a.m. from the patio at Mountain Creek Lodge. Ride the aerial tram down to Mountain Creek for this 10 mile hike from Pipestem State Park to Bluestone State Park. Wear good shoes, bring a light lunch (sandwiches and such), and plenty of water. A shuttle returns hikers to Pipestem around 4:00 p.m.

Preregistration recommended due to limited shuttle space. Sign up at the nature center or call Julie McQuade. Allow about 4-5 hours for the Bluestone Turnpike Hike. Hike leader is a National Park Service Ranger.

This will be a day full of Adrenaline pumping music! Come early, enjoy some beer and food, and hang out all day to hear the best Metal Music in Southern West Virginia!

Tamarack’s Appalachian Music & Art Festival @ Tamarack - The Best of West Virginia
Jun 9 – Jun 11 all-day

The festival kicks off on Friday night, June 9, 2017, with the premiere of an original musical comedy, FRACK!!  Box office opens at 6:30pm; show at 8pm.

10-11am – Maggie Jusiel presents a talk about Art Music in Early Appalachia, in the theater.

5 bands will play throughout the day in the courtyard. Performances begin at 11am, each band will play for one hour.

On Saturday night, there will be a ticketed concert featuring The Lilly Mountaineers, in The Hulett C. Smith Theater. Tickets are $10 +tax and processing fee online in advance, and $12 +tax and processing fee at the door. Box office opens at 7pm. House opens at 7:15pm. Show at 8:00pm.

26th Annual Kids Fishing Derby @ Little Beaver State Park

Discover the joys of fishing and develop an appreciation of WV streams, rivers and wildlife at this annual event. We welcome kids 14 and under and their families.  Bring basic fishing gear. Lunch and a limited supply of bait will be provided.  Registration is from 9am to 10:30am and kids must be registered to be eligible for prizes.  There will also be archery and hayrides activities.

Bramwell Spring Tour of Homes @ Historic Bramwell

Recapture the “Gilded Age”. Walking tour featuring costumed interpreters. Tours start at 2 pm and leave from the Bramwell Presbyterian Church. Fee is $15 per person and the tours will take place regardless of weather conditions. Reservations are not required.
