Brush Creek Falls Hike with The Nature Conservancy

May 16 @ 11:00 am 3:00 pm

Fall in love with Brush Creek Preserve! We are thrilled to invite you to hike with us at Brush Creek Preserve. Last year, this trail underwent significant improvements, and a brand new trail kiosk will be installed soon to officially wrap up the project.

Please RSVP here https://bit.ly/BrushCreekHike by 5/9/2025.

Trail Highlights:
🌼 Spring Wildflowers: Discover beautiful spring wildflowers, including uncommon species such as white cedar, Canada yew, shale barren onion (a regional endemic), and the globally rare shrub Canby’s mountain-lover.
🐦 Migrating Warblers: Late April and early May are the best times to spot migrating warblers.
πŸ‘€ Scenic Views: Enjoy the dramatic limestone and sandstone cliffs along the trail, which parallels Brush Creek and the Bluestone River, offering stunning views and a chance to immerse yourself in nature.
πŸ’¦ Brush Creek Falls: Adjacent to the preserve lies Brush Creek Falls, the largest falls in southern West Virginia, owned by the State of West Virginia.

This project was made possible by funding through a WVDOH Recreation Trails Program grant and a generous donation from American Water. We are grateful to collaborate with WV State Parks, TNC, Mercer County Commission, Southern WV Non-Motorized Trail Network, NPS Rivers, Trails, Conservation Assistance Program, and Access on the Go. These improvements make the trail more accessible, sustainable, and safer, allowing the community and tourists alike to enjoy Brush Creek Falls in all its glory.

Come and experience the spring beauty of Brush Creek Falls Preserve with us! πŸŒΌ
