From smooth bourbons to ciders made with heritage apple varieties and award-winning breweries, Southern West Virginia offers handcrafted beverages to suit any style. Now, travelers and locals alike can explore these flavors in a new way with Visit Southern West Virginia’s Brews and Booze Trail.
The Brews and Booze Trail digital passport connects fans of small-batch artisanal beverages to the distilleries, wineries and breweries of Southern West Virginia. When passholders check in to any of the 10 locations, they earn points, which can be redeemed for prizes. Signing up is free, and some vendors offer special deals on food, merch, and drinks for passport holders.
Passport holders must be at least 21 years old to participate. Please drink responsibly—one vendor coupon per pass holder. Coupons can only be redeemed once.

Located in Fayetteville by the Wolf Creek bike trails and the New River Birding and Nature Center, Bridge Brew Works is at the intersection of outdoor recreation and relaxation. It’s the perfect place to grab a freshly brewed beer, crafted on-site, after a day of adventuring in the New River Gorge.

Not too far from downtown Lewisburg, Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company is one of West Virginia’s premier craft breweries. Their taproom has over a dozen beers on draft, and their lineup includes a variety of West Virginia-themed beverages like Mothman IPA, 36 Parks WV Pale Ale made in honor of the 36 West Virginia State Parks, and Ole Ran’l Pilsner named after Randolph McCoy of the Hatfield-McCoy feud.

Isaiah Morgan Distillery
Isaiah Morgan Distillery in Summersville is home to West Virginia’s first bourbon, but they didn’t stop there. Though it is one of the smallest distilleries in the U.S., Isaiah Morgan also makes brandy, whiskey, moonshine, liquor, and grappa.

Hawk Knob Appalachian Hard Cider
Hawk Knob Appalachian Hard Cider takes pride in crafting ciders in the traditional, Appalachian way– barrel-aging West Virginian heritage apples. Their flavors range from traditional ciders to tastes that nod to Appalachia’s environment and culture, such as elderberry, ambrosia, hard cherry, and their Bloody Session Cider, a cider commemorating the Battle of Blair Mountain. Kirkwood Winery
Found just north of Summersville, Kirkwood Winery is the first established vineyard in the region and has one of the largest local wine selections in West Virginia.
