State Park Wilderness + Resort Luxury = Pipestem Resort State Park
Looking for a vacation that blends the outdoor excitement of West Virginia with all the luxuries of a resort vacation? How about a gorgeous, sweeping state park, loaded with adventures, packaged with the amenities of a resort?
If it sounds perfect, you’re in luck, because it exists.
Known as the crown jewel of the West Virginia State Park system, Pipestem Resort State Park is a sampler platter of entertainment. Pipestem offers outdoor adventure, a variety of activities to try, dining options, convenient and unique on-site shops, and accommodations that range from rustic to luxurious with the comforts of home.
Start by enjoying the simplest pleasure: the wonders of the nature around you. You can envelop yourself in the beauty with a hike, bike or fishing trip, or learn more about its wonders at the nature center.
Want to kick it up a notch? How about a day trip to go whitewater rafting? Or choose to stay at the park and go canoeing, try your hand at archery, or hit the water in a paddle boat.
There’s a much longer list of outdoor options at the park.
You can enjoy the outdoors in a more relaxing setting with a round of golf (or disc golf) or a dip in the pool. You could also take a ride on horseback, or try out the view from above on the aerial tramway.
We suggest kicking back and watching a show at the amphitheater. And there are a variety of quirky shops to uncover neat treasures, including handcrafted Appalachian gifts.
After a full day, fade to sleep to the crickets’ hymns on one of the campsites, or snuggle into the soft, warm beds of one of
the spacious cabins. Bring a group for hayrides and a fireside weenie roast, or get away with your loved one and have a romantic, gourmet meal at Mountain Creek, located at the base of the tramway. Open mid-May through October.
There’s so much more, but to really understand how much there is to see and do – you will just have to come visit for yourself.
What would be your first on your ‘to do’ list on a visit to Pipestem Resort State Park?
