Lewisburg
Downtown Lewisburg is the perfect getaway for great food, fun and entertainment right in the heart of the Greenbrier Valley.
Walking down Washington Street downtown is like taking a trip back in time to old-world Southern hospitality and charm. You will find award-winning restaurants, art galleries, beautiful antique shops, sidewalk cafes and eclectic boutiques. Boutiques in Lewisburg carry everything from local artisan jewelry, locally made bourbon and spirits to trendy clothes and shoes.
A quick stop at The North House Museum, run by the Lewisburg Historical Society, will give you a glimpse into the history of this quaint little town. Lewisburg is named after General Andrew Lewis, who surveyed the town in 1751. He set up camp by a spring, and over time a spring house was built, and then the town grew up around the spring.
You can also visit the Confederate Cemetery, the final resting place of 95 unidentified Confederate soldiers. The grave is marked by a Christian cross that is 80 feet by 53 feet.
While Lewisburg is fun any time of year, they do host some amazing and fun events to celebrate in every season:
