With the Christmas season going into high gear over the next few weeks, it is important to take the time to enjoy the fun of the holidays. One way to do that is to check out all of our awesome area light displays and decorations.

Holiday of Lights
What began as a small Christmas display has grown into one of the largest lighting exhibits anywhere in West Virginia.
Beginning on Thanksgiving night of each year and continuing through New Year’s Eve, numerous holiday displays can be enjoyed from the comfort of your car by driving through the 40 plus acre park. The Holiday of Lights is a wonderful addition to this festive season. Various specialty nights during the month of December include: A visit from Santa, where children can meet Santa and ride through the park on the trolley with him, Walking the Holiday of Lights Night, and much more! Sunday through Thursday 6 to 9 pm. Friday and Saturday – 6 to 10 pm. Cost: No fees. Donations accepted or Canned Items.
Downtown Lewisburg Holiday Lights – Lewisburg, WV
The downtown area of Lewisburg may be known for its great shops and restaurants, but this holiday-The shops of Lewisburg will again transform the city into a holiday wonderland on Saturday and Sunday, November 23-24. And there’s so much to enjoy! From holiday caroling, horse-drawn carriage rides and storytelling to trinkets and treats sprinkled throughout every shop, to cookies and/or cocktails….event goers are sure to find a remembrance or inspiration to create their own new holiday traditions. And, of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand for photos and to take note of Christmas wishes!
Fayette County Park Winter Wonderland – Beckwith, WV Start a new holiday tradition or continue a favorite one at the annual Winter Wonderland at Fayette County Park. Drive or walk through the park to view thousands of lights that create wonderful holiday scenes and displays. On the weekends guest can enjoy wagon rides, community carolers, hot chocolate and visit with Santa.
The Winter Wonderland light display opens on December 1 and runs through December 30 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Admission is $5.00 per vehicle.
Nicholas County Veteran’s Memorial Park – Summersville, WV
Christmas Lights in the Park at the Veteran’s Memorial Park on Rt 19 in Summersville WV. Open through the month of December nightly til 10pm.
Nicholas County Veterans Memorial Park kicks off its 22nd annual Lights in the Park November 30, 2019! Lights in the Park is open 5:30PM – 9:30PM, nightly November 30th through December 31st. Voting for our annual decorating competition will be November 30 – December 21, and winners will be announced the following week.
Appalachian Coal Town Christmas
Back after a two-year hiatus, this celebration of Christmas at the Exhibition Coal Mine in Beckley is a light display and a whole lot more. There are underground mine tours, marshmallow roasts, horse drawn carriage rides, caroling, and ornament workshops. Taking place on November 30 and December 1 from 5 to 9pm, this event is a great way for folks of all ages to kick off the Christmas season. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. All decorations and lights will be above ground.
