Selfies with Santa
Still need a photo for that holiday card? Gather the whole family for Selfies with Santa at Tamarack: The Best of West Virginia! This free event will take place from 11:30 – 3:30 until December 23. And if you still need to do some Christmas shopping, browse West Virginia-made creations before or after your selfie!
Santa’s Christmas Adventure
Where can you write letters to Santa, help elves in the workshop, try cookies straight from Mrs. Claus’ kitchen and meet jolly ol’ St. Nick himself? Santa’s Christmas Adventure! You’re invited to create memories through this one-of-a-kind, interactive Christmas event at Glade Springs Resort on December 7, 8, 14 and 15. Reservations are required and should be made in advance.
Girls Day Out
Grab your girls for a jolly holiday event in Lewisburg! Girls Day Out 2018 will be held on December 8 in downtown Lewisburg. Get some holiday shopping done for everyone on your list, including yourself! Downtown businesses will be open for a fun day of raffles, giveaways, prizes, food, drinks and most importantly, fun. You and your BFFs will love spending the day in one of America’s Coolest Small Towns!
A Christmas Classic
Don’t give in to your inner Scrooge! You have two opportunities to see A Christmas Carol in Southern West Virginia this holiday season. Join Treehouse Arts Ensemble on December 7 and 8 at Tamarack: The Best of West Virginia as they present this timeless Christmas story. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online. And on December 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22, see A Christmas Carol presented by the Greenbrier Valley Theater in Lewisburg. This timeless Christmas story being brought to life on stage and is sure to get you in the holiday spirit!
Auld Lang Syne
What are you doing New Year’s Eve? Southern West Virginia has a few New Year’s Eve celebrations to keep you entertained.
Visit Twin Falls Resort State Park for their annual New Year’s Eve Celebration on December 31! This year’s theme is a Masquerade Party, and you’re encouraged to dress accordingly. Ring in 2019 with DJ Dave Alley and a champagne toast at midnight. Reservations are required.
Begin anew at Glade Springs Resort! And for families with kids, there’s no better place to be. Kids, teens and adults will have their own parties on New Year’s Eve. Adults, look forward to heavy hors d’oeuvres and desserts along with a cash bar and champagne toast at midnight. The Teen Bash in the leisure center will feature basketball, bowling and appetizers. The Kid Bash at Camp Glade will feature dinner, movies and music. One and two night stay packages are available!
Ring in 2019 on the rim of the New River Gorge! Enjoy music by The Company Stores, delicious food and craft drinks all night long at Adventures on the Gorge for their New Year’s Eve party. Tickets include appetizers, a champagne toast and a shuttle to different locations in Fayetteville.
The 6th Annual Downtown Countdown is another exciting way to bring in the New Year! Six indoor entertainment venues, live music, circus performers, ice sculptors, a gaming theater, kids’ activities, black light art space, live art demos, giveaways, games and more, concluding with a ball drop & fireworks at midnight. Outdoor activities are FREE including the ball drop and fireworks and all access passes to indoor venues are $15.
