5 Fayette County Music Festivals You Don’t Want to Miss
Fayette County is ready to groove in the summer sun with a series of music festivals at venues throughout the area! Here are our top must-see fests in Fayette County this summer:
Mountain Music Festival
May 30 -June 1 at Ace Adventure Resort in Oak Hill, WV
It’s the Mountain Music Festival’s 10th anniversary, and the folks at ACE Adventure Resort are making sure that it’s a festival to remember. This year, the line-up includes Beats Antique, Monophonics, Big Something, Moon Hooch and more! The festival also features workshops and adventurous outdoor activities like rock climbing and whitewater rafting to participate in. Festival goers can join in on a braiding circle, take a Vinyasa yoga class, learn how to hoop dance, create art, play theater games, and slackline.
General admission starts at $99 for a daily pass and $175 for a 2-day pass.

Whizzbanger’s Ball
June 14 & June 15 at The Summit Bechtel Reserve in Glen Jean, WV
Whizzbang BAM! And the Symmetry Agency presents the Whizzbanger’s Ball–a blended celebration of outdoor adventure and music. It’s a full weekend event, so daily tickets will not be available. The line-up includes Of The Dell, Abby Hamilton, Josyln & The Sweet Compression, Arlo McKinley, Darrin Hacquard, Charlie Brown Superstar, Brad Goodall, Wayne Graham, William Matheny, Jeremy Short, El Dorodo, Buffalo Wabs & the Price Hill Hustle, John R. Miller, and closing out the show on Saturday night will be headline Tyler Childers!
In addition to watching live performances, festivalgoers can spend the day hiking, rock climbing, fishing, and riding ziplines in the 10,000-acre Summit Bechtel Reserve. There are also offsite packages available for whitewater rafting. Come early and stay late to explore southern WV!
Weekend passes are $150 for adults and $65 for children 12 and under.
Oh Mul-ord Music Festival
June 22 at the Outpost New River Gorge
This day-long music festival’s line-up includes four pro wrestling matches, as well performances from Aaron Beam & The Do-Gooders, Andrew Adkins, Jamie Lester, Poor Taters, Sean Nester, Jonah Carden, Briana Atwell, Randy Gilkey, The Carpenter Ants, The Bringdowns, and more.
Tickets are $15 with a $3 processing fee. Children 14 and under are free with adult admission.

Appalachian String Band Music Festival
July 31 – August 4 at Camp Washington Carver in Clifftop, WV
This five-day folksy festival engages guests with fiddle and banjo contests, square dances, band contests, and performances. The line-up of various artists includes Cat in the Butter, Long Point String Band, Critton Hollow, The Shoats, Allemande, Juanita Fireball & the Clifftop Drifters, and The McCoys.

LivFree Music Festival
August 15 – August 17 at Adventures on the Gorge
Rock-on all day and night at the LivFree Music Festival at Adventures on the Gorge. Acts include SPACE FREQ, Dinosaur Burps, Hurl Brickbat, Curses, Killakoi, Grace Campell, Alabaster Boxer, Matt Mullins & The Bringdowns, The M.F.B., Afroman, The Settlement, and The Heavy Hitters. Afterparties on both Friday and Saturday nights at the Rendezvous begin at 10PM.
