“Heathers: The Musical” uses unique staging and features an entirely local cast, crew and live band, uniting high school students and adults from across the region.
Seven evening performances are set at the Raleigh Playhouse & Theatre for Nov. 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16 at 8 p.m. with a matinee on Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. Doors will open one hour prior to each show, along with Sir Walter’s Tavern, conveniently located underneath the theater, where guests can enjoy drinks and refreshments.
Set in the 1980s, “Heathers:
The Musical” follows Veronica Sawyer, a witty, compassionate high school outsider who is thrust into the infamous clique known as “The Heathers” at Westerberg High. The musical delves into themes of popularity, teen angst, and the quest for acceptance, underscored by razor-sharp humor and powerful musical numbers.
WV Collective’s production promises a fresh, local twist on this cult classic, with every element crafted by talent from southern West Virginia. The production features a live band delivering the show’s iconic score, enhancing the immersive experience of the performance.
