DESCRIPTION:Sensory Friendly Time with Santa!Cookies & Cocoa * Crafts* Youth Museum ExhibitSanta\, the Elves and more!\nThis event is catered to children and persons with Sensory Processing Disorder.\nWhile most people associate the condition with persons with Autism\, not everyone with sensory issues is on the spectrum. Some have ADHD\, OCD or developmental delays.Or they may not have a diagnosis at all. They can become overstimulated in loud and chaotic situations. Our goal is to be able to interact with Santa\, something many families take for granted.\nA visit with Santa should not be traumatic or stressful.\nOur Sensory Santa event allows for children to get comfortable in the environment\, play\, work on a craft\, have a snack or color. It also allows parents to meet each other and make new friends. Santa is great at bringing people together.\nWhen you arrive we will check you in at the front\, when it is your turn to visit Santa\, we will come find you. If you feel that your not ready or need more time\, just let us know and we will move on to the next family\, but continue to check in with you so your child has their time with Santa.\nOur Santa is not limited to the typical “photo op.” Sometimes we get creative.We accommodate the child/person within their levels of comfort. We will do our best\, but we also know that it is a process. We are anything but TYPICAL. Our Santa also signs.\nDue to space availability you may be asked to wait in your car until we can accommodate your family. If you have 5 or more\, we ask that you call ahead and let us know what time you plan to attend so that we can prepare accordingly. Anyone planning to attend is welcome to let us know as well so that we can plan properly for everyone! DESCRIPTION:The performance will be held at the Youth Museum of Southern West Virginia!\nThe Rustic Mechanicals\, West Virginia’s only professional Shakespeare troupe\, bring their 2022 Sweet Smoke of Rhetoric Tour of William Shakespeare’s most intelligent romantic comedy\, LOVE’S LABOUR’S LOST to the Youth Museum of Southern West Virginia on Sunday\, July 10 at 4p. \nTickets for this performance are\n$17 in advance and $23 at the door. \nWhen the King of Navarre and his three courtiers forswear all pleasure – particularly of the female variety – in favour of a life of study\, the arrival of the Princess of France and her ladies plays havoc with their intentions. Using every kind of verbal gymnastics to poke fun\, Love’s Labour’s Lost proves to be Shakespeare’s most intellectual comedy. DESCRIPTION:EMPTY BOWLS PROJECT\nIt’s that time of year again when WVU Tech\, schoolchildren\, grandmas and all of our community come together for this very important component of the production of pottery bowls. \nWe are in our 7th year of this important fundraiser that addresses food sustainability in Raleigh County. We have raised approximately $100\,000 that has been divided through 10 food programs and pantries in 6 years. \nBowl production is the hallmark of the project and is coordinated through the Youth Museum. \nPlease come and join us for a day of creativity and fellowship!\nYou will be so happy to be part of this project! \nEvent is March 28\, 11am – 1pm put on by Quota Club International Beckley.
