SUMMARY:Spring Music Festival at Appalachian Bible College
DESCRIPTION:The music department of Appalachian Bible College presents the 2026 Spring Music Festival entitled “Old Refrains… New Strains.” The public is invited with free admission. The concert will also be streamed at abc.edu/live. \nI have considered the days of old…I call to remembrance my song” (Psalm 71:5-6). \nThroughout Scripture\, believers are reminded to look to the past faithfulness of God for encouragement during present sufferings. Music was often used to record those occurrences such as Moses’s song when Israel left Egypt\, the many Psalms of David\, or even the Christology recorded in the early church hymn of Philippians 2. \nThe 2026 Spring Festival first half looks backwards to “Old Refrains” featuring fun\, toe-tapping songs from early Americana; while the second half looks forward to the “New Strains” of praise to our God that we sing now and will sing throughout eternity. \nRepresentatives of our entire ABC family — from the children of the youth ensemble to the staff joining the students in the Chorale and Jubilate — participate in this musical extravaganza sure to put a smile on your face and a song in your heart.

SUMMARY:Servants' Summit at Appalachian Bible College
DESCRIPTION:Appalachian Bible College Announces Servants’ Summit 2026: Serving through the SeasonsA Conference for Ministry Leaders to Rest\, Refresh\, and Refocus \n\n\n\nMount Hope\, WV – November 20\, 2025 – As Appalachian Bible College continues its celebration of 75 years of equipping servants for the Church\, ABC proudly invites pastors\, teachers\, counselors\, camp staff\, youth workers\, missionaries\, and Christian servants of every kind to the third annual Servants’ Summit\, February 5–7\, 2026\, on the beautiful campus in Mount Hope\, West Virginia. \n\n\n\nUnder the theme Serving through the Seasons\, this refreshing mid-winter getaway encourages ministry leaders to persevere faithfully through every season of life and service. Whether you are in a springtime of new vision\, a summer of fruitful labor\, an autumn of harvest weariness\, or a winter of testing and trial\, come be renewed in your calling to glorify the Lord where He has placed you. \n\n\n\nKeynote Speakers \n\n\n\n• Dr. John King• Dr. Daniel Anderson\, President of Appalachian Bible College \n\n\n\nAbout Dr. John King: Dr. John King\, D.Min.\, brings over 50 years of pastoral ministry experience to the Summit\, having faithfully served churches in North Carolina\, Florida\, Indiana\, and West Virginia. John retired in July 2018 as the Senior Pastor at Johnston Chapel Baptist Church in Princeton\, WV\, the church where he was saved as a child and called to preach as a teen. After completing Bible college and pastoring churches in three other states\, he returned to Johnston Chapel\, where he ministered for over 26 years. He and his wife Jeanie have been married 53 years\, and rejoice in God’s gifts of three daughters and seven grandchildren. John and Jeanie have served together in ministry for 52 years\, 43 of those in pastorates in North Carolina\, Florida\, Indiana and West Virginia. \n\n\n\nJohn also served for two years as an instructor and Dean of Graduate Studies at Appalachian Bible College\, while Jeanie served for 12 years on the ABC staff. Since retirement\, he has continued serving the Lord by preaching in Bible Conferences\, revival meetings\, interim pastorates\, and other pulpit supply. He also teaches two classes in the M.A. in Ministry program at ABC. He earned a Th.B. from Piedmont Bible College\, an M.Div. in Pastoral Ministries from Grace Theological Seminary\, a Th.M. in Systematic Theology from Grace Theological Seminary\, and a Doctor of Ministry in Church Management and Leadership from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. His lifelong commitment to shepherding God’s people through every season makes him perfectly to encourage and equip fellow servants at this year’s Summit. \n\n\n\nAbout Dr. Daniel Anderson: Dr. Daniel L. Anderson\, Th.D.\, has faithfully served as President of Appalachian Bible College since his inauguration in 1983—the longest-tenured president in ABC’s 75-year history. He first joined the staff in 1978 as Registrar\, Bible and History Instructor\, Dean of Students\, and Assistant to the President. \n\n\n\nRaised in Iowa\, Dr. Anderson followed four older siblings to then-Appalachian Bible Institute\, earning his three-year Bible diploma. He completed his B.A. at Faith Baptist Bible College (1972)\, pastored Grace Bible Church in Elkhart\, Indiana (where he was ordained)\, and then earned his Master of Sacred Theology and Doctor of Theology degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary while serving as an administrative intern and on staff at Central Baptist Church in Mesquite\, Texas. \n\n\n\nIn 2013 Dr. Anderson authored Biblical Slave Leadership: A Study from the Life of Christ\, a book born from decades of studying and modeling Jesus’ servant-hearted example. His passion for nurturing servants for the fields of the world perfectly embodies ABC’s motto: …because Life is for Service. \n\n\n\nThe Summit will include powerful main sessions with Dr. King and Dr. Anderson\, practical workshops\, delicious meals\, rich fellowship\, a free afternoon of optional activities (fellowship\, hiking\, games\, rest)\, and time to simply breathe amid the beauty of the West Virginia mountains.Early registration is now open. Limited on-campus lodging is available. \n\n\n\nFor registration\, schedule\, and full details visit abc.edu/summit or email developmentvp@abc.edu
