VISIT SOUTHERN WEST VIRGINIA

Story By Chris – NRG Bridge

September 26, 2017

Name: Chris

Message: We stopped at the Super 8 in Summersville on our way to the path of totality for the “eclipse of the century.” Staff at the hotel; spoke so enthusiastically about the area and the many things to see and do that we realized West Virginia is more than just a drive-through state on the way to elsewhere. Brochures we picked up at the hotel also helped to make up our minds to make West Virginia a future vacation destination.

On the morning of August 20, 2017, we turned off the highway to get a look at the New River Gorge Bridge. The early morning fog almost completely shrouded the bridge. But as we waited and took in the scenery, the fog lifted, allowing me to get a photo of the bridge. A most impressive structure. And we’ll be back one day to take a longer look.
