Independence Day 2022 Events & Fireworks!

Alderson’s 4th of July Celebration

The little town of Alderson goes so big for July 4, they stretch the celebration from July 2-5, with businesses decorating downtown, a fireman’s rodeo, contests, field events, pageants, square dancing, car show, parade, live music, a renowned fireworks show and more.

It concludes with a massive rubber duck race down the Greenbrier River. Purchase your lucky duck for the race, and the top duckies earn prizes, including gift certificates, prize bags, theater tickets, cash, local artwork, and more. A full list of scheduled events can be found here.

Fayetteville’s Heritage Festival

Celebrate America’s birthday in America’s coolest small town. We invite you and your family to join our community in celebration. Experience the magic of our small-town Independence Day Celebration with Fayetteville’s Heritage Festival.  This event features fun activities for the whole family beginning July 1st with a 4th of July Parade, inflatables, field games, fireworks, and music.  One of the highlights of the celebration is the Best of Small Town 4th of July Parade where you will see an explosion of patriotism with decked-out floats.  The festivities will be capped off by a fireworks extravaganza at the Fayetteville Town Park at dusk on the 4th. Beckley-Raleigh County Fireworks & Fun

On Saturday,  July 2 the WV Miner’s host an at-home baseball game at Linda K. Epling Stadium in Beckley. Enjoy a night at the ballpark with your family topped off with a firework display!

Come to Lake Stephens, on July 3rd to enjoy the fireworks show and the festivities. Beach and concessions will open at 5 pm with fireworks beginning at dark. Live DJ and Little Jimmy’s Italian Ice.  Beach, water park and splash pad will be closed throughout the day to prepare for celebration. 

On July 4 Beckley Events Fireworks at the Beckley Little League at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center, 9:30 pm, with sponsorship support from Appalachian Power

The Resort at Glade Springs

Saturday, July 2nd – Experience the spectacular color, pageantry, and fun as scores of whimsically decorated golf carts from the community, drive through Town Square. They’ve been known to pass out candy, popsicles, and even donuts!
The golf cart parade will kick off this year’s Kids Fun Fair which will feature huge concessions and games.

Are you ready to dance? Gather around the clubhouse at 8 pm for a very special dancing extravaganza by AAA Entertainment. More details about Independence Day celebrations can be found here.

Brat Dinner at Old World Libations

Stop by Old World Libations in Greenville for a Brat Dinner on July 2nd. Enjoy wine, cider, and brats! Bring a picnic blanket or chair and enjoy the afternoon listening to the cool waters of Indian Creek flow by, or participate in some old-fashioned lawn games.

Princeton

Celebrate the 4th of July Celebration with a full day of exciting entertainment. The gates of Hunnicutt Stadium will open at 1:00 p.m.  Enjoy live music, a car show, a baseball game, and a hot dog eating contest with spectacular Fireworks that will light up the night sky around 10:00 p.m.

Big Air Blob Competition

Fireworks won’t be the only thing rocketing overhead on Independence Day. On July 3, gather at Wonderland Water Park for ACE Adventure Resort’s 11th Annual Big Air Blob Competition. Teams of two will compete for the most outrageous blob of the day and judges will score up to 10 points per blob based on form, height, or just sheer craziness. Registration begins at 4 p.m. and the competition starts at 5 p.m.

More fireworks:

  • Join the City of Welch, on July 2nd for their Coaltown Beach Blast & Fireworks. With Family activities such as beach games, free watermelon, a beer garden, beach music, and Fireworks at 10 pm!  A full list of activities can be found here!
  • Bridge Brew Works, We will open at 1 pm Sat July 3rd, and will have Polecat Tacos. In addition around 4 Cast Iron Smokers will have a pig roasted and ready to serve. And for kids young and old, Cherry on Top Ice Cream food truck will be here. Fireworks at 9 pm.
  • Summersville – Enjoy the fireworks on Monday, July 4 at dusk at Northside in Summersville. The best location to park and watch the fireworks are from Northside Chevrolet, Merchants Walk and the Walmart parking lots.  Rain date: July 5th. The Tractor Bar will be hosting an all-American cookout with hotdogs, apple pie and music beginning at 6pm.
