This exclusive night will be foot traffic only and the park will close at 8:30 pm.\nFamilies of all ages\, co-workers\, and folks ready for some winter cheer can join this event for $10 per person\, ages 12 and under are free. Every participant will receive a winter ornament and be invited to participate in the Ugly Sweater Contest. \nThe park gate will open at 5 pm and close at 8:30 pm. Participants can expect to pay $10 a person at the gate (12 years and under are free). Everyone entering the park is considered a participant. This entry fee gives you access to the exclusive first night of the Winter Wonderland Light Display\, a participant ornament\, access to the holiday dinner hall\, and a timing clock will be provided for those wishing to record their walk/run times. This event is not professionally timed. \nThe walk/run event will begin line up at 5:50 pm with a group photo. Participants have until 7 pm to complete their 5K distance\, or any distance goal you may have. Sometimes 1 mile is a great goal for someone! \nPlease bring a flashlight or headlamp. There will be no vehicles on the park road from 6 pm-7 pm. If you finish early\, please wait until 7 pm before moving your vehicle. This is a pet free park. No dogs\, please. \nThe Ugly Sweater Contest will begin at 7:15 pm in the dining hall with line up for appointed judges to classify winners. Categories will be announced soon. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening of ALL West Virginian Art and Music featuring the music of WV native Essie Riddle and the art of FOUR WV residents: Jamie Miller\, Ginger Danz\, Gary Vaughan and Amy Lanham. Have some light refreshments\, view the pieces\, converse with the artists then enjoy the soulful sounds of Essie Riddle!\nEssie (Sarah Riddle) is a WV native who moved to NJ to pursue her graduate studies in opera at Westminster Choir College. While there she began singing and song-writing with a local band soon forming Essie & the Big Chill. Soon after Essie’s passion turned to writing her own songs. She is currently working on several independent projects and collaborating with several artists in the tri-state area. \nShe has been fortunate to sing in the Invitational house band at John & Peter’s fronted by Mickey Melchiondo (Dean Ween) and featuring incredible musicians such as Michael Hampton (Kidd Funkadelic). Other notable performance venues include performing at Brooklyn Bowl\, House of Independent’s and Ardmore Hall with renowned acts like Junior Marvin (The Wailers)\, Justin Guarini\, Remember Jones\, and Jah People. \nClassically Essie has been fortunate to share the stage at Carnegie Hall with the Berlin Philharmonic for Beethoven’s 9th Symphony under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle. She also has performed under Yannick Nézet-Séguin with the Philadelphia Orchestra at the Kimmel Center for multiple works\, as well as several performances with the New Jersey State Orchestra. \nOver the years she has been recognized for several awards including the Hobson Award for Vocal Excellence and first place in both the Eloise-Campbell Long Competition\, and WV NATS competition.

DESCRIPTION:The Historic Fayette Theater will present “On Christmas Day in the Morning\,” written by Faye Couch Reeves\, as its annual Christmas show. \nIt is about getting enough orphans adopted by the end of the year or else the orphanage will close. They’re in the middle of nowhere and no one is coming to the orphanage so the kids come up with a plan to get adopted rather than waiting for parents to come to them. \nThe play is set at the Little Angels Home for the Orphans in Shortcomings\, Texas around Christmas time in the mid-1930s. It will be performed during two weekends in December. On Friday and Saturday\, Dec. 6-7 and Friday and Saturday\, Dec. 13-14\, the lights will come up at 7:30 p.m. There will also be matinee performances on two successive Sundays\, Dec. 8 and Dec. 15\, at 2 p.m.
