This timed race will be a short distance. 3 team members will push/steer\, while 1 team member will be seated in the coffin. \n\nTeams must be in costume.\n\nThursday – October 27th: \n5-7 pm Pumpkin Carving Contest Drop off at Pumpkin House \nOn this day of the festival\, there will be Pumpkin House lighting at dark where pumpkins will be lit each night until Halloween night. \nWinners will be announced on Friday\, October 28. Unlimited pumpkin submissions can be accepted and it is free to register. \nSaturday – October 29th \n7-10 pm Trick or Treat at Candy Booths on Main Street \nThe City of Oak Hill is proud to host their Spooktacular events lined up this year and hope this is the best one yet. SUMMARY:Witches Paddle
DESCRIPTION:Gather for a Witches and Warlocks Stand Up Paddle on the New River on Sunday\, October 30th. We will be meeting at the upper Fayette Station Parking lot. Attendees need to sign a waiver in advance\, must know how to swim\, and wear PFDs. This event is not designed for first-time paddlers. Paddlers must be confident in maneuvering boards.\nWe will launch at the upper beach at Fayette Station wearing PFDs paddling approximately 500 yards upstream on the flat water back to the beach. This is a leisure paddle but keep in mind that the current of the river can be challenging for beginners.\nThis is a limited ticket event capped at a maximum of 70 participants to meet the requirements of our permit. If you reserve a spot and can’t attend\, please let us know so we can open the spots to give others a chance to join in the fun. This also allows us to have space for vehicle parking and allows for ease of launch and exit from the river. You must pre-register to attend and fill out a waiver. We encourage participants to carpool or utilize the upper overflow parking area. In the event that water levels are too high on the river\, we will make a decision before the event and move the event to Kanawha Falls\, if water levels are unsafe at the falls we will be forced to cancel.
