DESCRIPTION:Join Active Southern WV at Lake Stephens for a Stand-Up Paddleboarding demo evening! No reservations are needed. Participants will take turns using boards and receive instruction from trained Active SWV Community Captains. All ages are welcome. Children under 12 years old may have to paddle with an adult. By visiting many of Shakespeare’s most iconic moments and famous text\, the fairies explore the humor\, frivolity\, and truthfulness of the greatest human condition. \nGVT is welcoming seven actors making their debut at the theatre\, including Devon Ahmed as the fairy leader Puck. Joining her are Ian Kramer\, Stephanie LaVardera\, Sam Parrott\, and Jordan Slattery. Sophia DeLeo and Jenna Fawcett round out the cast while adding musical accompaniment to help set the tone and moods of the show. \nProducing Artistic Director Matthew Scott Campbell (Pride and Prejudice\, Little Shop of Horrors) will provide direction alongside GVT newcomer\, Jenna Sulecki. The production will feature original music by Grace Campbell\, scenic design completed by Evan Frank\, costume design by Jenna Fawn Brown\, lighting design by E. Tonry Lathroum\, and sound and prop design by Arron Seams. Elizabeth Salisch serves as the Production Stage Manager and Richard Crowell as the Production Manager. \n“Matt and I wanted to create something that would make Shakespeare more accessible and exciting. We’ll have miles and miles of aerial adventure — five parallel zip lines nearly ¾ of a mile long. Reach speeds of up to 60 MPH as you soar over The Summit on one of the longest zip line courses in all of North America. \nThe Mountaineer GNCC takes place at the world-renowned Summit Bechtel Reserve. This facility is one of just four in the world managed by the National Council of the Scouts of America. \nNaturally\, given the rugged West Virginia Mountains\, you should be prepared for a tough but fun event. The course will be made up of a mix of tight and technical trails plus some fast sections to give you a break before you head back into the technical stuff. DESCRIPTION:Friends of Monroe is excited that things are moving forward with the WV Scenic Trails Association Annual Trek.  September 16\, 17 & 18th\, the organized hike will take place in Monroe County on Section 4 of the Allegheny Trail.  Each day’s itinerary is planned to be suitable for those who would like to hike and then return home or to their Airbnb at the end of the day.  This hike is perfect for those wanting to hike all three days and camp along the route or at Moncove Lake State Park too.  Days one and two will start from Hanging Rock Raptor Observatory on Limestone Hill Road at the top of Peters Mountain near Waiteville\, WV.   For the full itinerary\, meal\, and shuttle information\, visit the event page\, www.wvscenictrails.org/trek. DESCRIPTION:Greenbrier Valley Theatre Prepares for a World Premiere \nMidsummer’s Night is a brand new piece adapted from William Shakespeare. \n\n                There is a great deal of excitement surrounding Greenbrier Valley Theatre as summer draws to an end. The State Professional Theatre of West Virginia is preparing to produce a world premiere show adapted from the works of arguably the greatest playwright in history\, William Shakespeare. Midsummer’s Night\, will highlight some of the most recognizable moments from works such as Romeo and Juliet\, Twelfth Night\, and many others. \nMidsummer’s Night revolves around Puck as they lead a group of fairies on a quest to understand the complexities of human love. By visiting many of Shakespeare’s most iconic moments and famous text\, the fairies explore the humor\, frivolity\, and truthfulness of the greatest human condition. \nGVT is welcoming seven actors making their debut at the theatre\, including Devon Ahmed as the fairy leader Puck. Joining her are Ian Kramer\, Stephanie LaVardera\, Sam Parrott\, and Jordan Slattery. Sophia DeLeo and Jenna Fawcett round out the cast while adding musical accompaniment to help set the tone and moods of the show. \nProducing Artistic Director Matthew Scott Campbell (Pride and Prejudice\, Little Shop of Horrors) will provide direction alongside GVT newcomer\, Jenna Sulecki. The production will feature original music by Grace Campbell\, scenic design completed by Evan Frank\, costume design by Jenna Fawn Brown\, lighting design by E. Tonry Lathroum\, and sound and prop design by Arron Seams. Elizabeth Salisch serves as the Production Stage Manager and Richard Crowell as the Production Manager. \n“Matt and I wanted to create something that would make Shakespeare more accessible and exciting. Many people shy away from his work because of the difficult language\, so we set out to combine his most human passages to construct a show where people could easily see themselves in the characters and situations\,” said Sulecki. \nNow entering its 55th season\, Greenbrier Valley Theatre\, is a mainstay and theatre destination in Lewisburg\, WV. The arts organization has been further recognized as a “West Virginia Jewel of the Hills\,” awarded the Living the Dream Service Organization Honor Roll by The Martin Luther King\, Jr. Holiday Commission\, and is a multi-year recipient of Non-Profit Business of the Year. DESCRIPTION:Friends of Monroe is excited that things are moving forward with the WV Scenic Trails Association Annual Trek.  September 16\, 17 & 18th\, the organized hike will take place in Monroe County on Section 4 of the Allegheny Trail.  Each day’s itinerary is planned to be suitable for those who would like to hike and then return home or to their Airbnb at the end of the day.  This hike is perfect for those wanting to hike all three days and camp along the route or at Moncove Lake State Park too.  Days one and two will start from Hanging Rock Raptor Observatory on Limestone Hill Road at the top of Peters Mountain near Waiteville\, WV.   For the full itinerary\, meal\, and shuttle information\, visit the event page\, www.wvscenictrails.org/trek.
