Sweetest Bakery Contest & Tasting Event at Sunset Berry Farm in Alderson

Who is the sweetest baker in Southern West Virginia?
If you own a bakery or just love to bake, please consider joining Sunset Berry Farm for their 1st annual bakery contest & tasting event during the first Saturday of the Alderson Strawberry Festival at Sunset Berry Farm in Alderson, WV on Saturday, May 20 (10 am-4 pm).
You may also come back again Saturday, May 27 for the BIG day of the Alderson Strawberry Festival.
May 20 events will be at the farm only, not the bridge.
May 27 is always the BIG day of the Alderson Strawberry Festival with food, fun & festivities at both the bridge and farm.
Participants in the bakery contest will prepare as many yummy varieties as they would like. Goodies will be cut into single bite-size pieces valued at $2 each. The dish just needs to be covered with Saran Wrap as there is no need to package individual portions. Tastings will be served on a napkin using tongs. Participants should wear gloves (we have extras if anyone needs any).
The item that collects the most tickets wins a 1st place trophy and $100, in addition to keeping all proceeds from tasting sales.
Please write on a piece of paper the name of the tasting item and list the ingredients. On the back of that paper, please write the name of the participant and/or bakery name and city.
Bakers are encouraged to be present but If you can’t attend in person, you may bring your item to the farm the day prior to or the morning of the event.
