Mid-October is anticipated as the peak timing for autumn leaf colors in Monroe. 1 PM will be the start time for a fall walk on Potts Valley Rail Trail beginning at the southwest trail terminus. Information on local rail history, geography, and flora and fauna will be provided to compliment the trail’s ties to both wilderness and history. Much of the length of this trail is suitable for those with ambulatory restrictions, as the first 3 miles are on the former rail grade which is relatively flat. Accommodations will be made for those only wishing to hike part of the trail. Shuttle service will be available at the end, for those who wish to walk the full 4.5 miles. This hike will conclude with a light, seasonal fare. To Register for this hike, call Allison or Sonya at 304-772-3003
