New River Birding & Nature Festival

April 25, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Virtual Festival, 2021

We will present a Virtual ‘21 NRBNF. While it cannot be the same as spending time with you in the field, we hope to share some joy and laughs. Join us on Facebook starting Sunday evening, April 25, through Saturday, May 1 during our regular Festival week for daily bird watching, photo and video highlights, stories, raffles, discussions, and t-shirts. “Favorite” our Facebook page so you don’t miss any details or action!

What’s this I hear about a new National Park?

The wild and wonderful, almost heaven New River Gorge National River and National Park Service areas are now officially designated National Park & Preserve. Yep, the 63rd National Park and 20th Preserve in the U.S.! Take a peek at the proposed boundaries from our Senator’s office.

If you’re considering traveling to the area to bird on your own, keep an eye on our upcoming page Birding the New River Gorge National Park. Currently, under construction, it will contain links, maps, descriptions as well as birding and nature information to help you have a safe and adventurous self-guided experience.

Let’s Keep in Touch

As always, please reach out to us with questions and conversation. Prolonged isolation isn’t good for anyone. Even the steadfast introvert needs human interaction from time to time. Though good in a pinch, volleyballs, coconuts, and mops aren’t excellent conversationalists. “No judgment here,” says Frankie the rescued snail from its terrarium on Rachel’s desk. What…?!

We appreciate your friendship, understanding, and support, and we’re hoping to see you all in 2022, May 2 – 7, if not sooner.

Be well. Stay well. Keep one another well.

Rachel, Geoff, Keith, Paul
