“Birds of a Feather” Exhibition
March 7, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Beckley, West Virginia. Tamarack Fine Arts Gallery’s latest exhibition, “Birds of a Feather,” opened this weekend. Featuring an array of two- and three-dimensional artworks, this show is sure to captivate avian enthusiasts, art-lovers, and everyone in-between.
Representation of birds in artwork can be found as far back as prehistoric cave paintings, proving their ability to capture the human imagination and inspire people to create works of art even before humans knew what art was or the impact it could have hundreds of years after its creation.
“With our ‘Birds of a Feather’ exhibition, we wanted to give our juried artists an opportunity to recognize the inspiration that our feathered friends have given artists of all mediums throughout the year,” said Gallery Director Mandy Lash.
There are some exciting changes happening at Tamarack Marketplace and Lash said the artwork isn’t the only thing new in the David L. Dickirson Fine Arts Gallery. “We have taken this time to rearrange and refresh our space to create a more dynamic and visually interesting display,” said Lash. “These small, subtle changes are just a glimpse of what is to come for our well-loved space in the next year. Our aim is for the impact of these changes, along with the artwork from our immensely talented artists, to be noticeable as soon as you step foot into the gallery.”
With Spring right around the corner and the hope of getting back to a modified, pre-pandemic lifestyle, this exhibition is sure to add to the brightening spirits of all Tamarack Marketplace visitors. “’ Birds of a Feather” is immersive and unlike any exhibition, our community has seen from us in many years,” said Lash, “immediately giving our guests a sense of joy, happiness, and hope.”
“Birds of a Feather” will be on display until April 11th. Tamarack Marketplace is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm until March 31st and will be open Wednesday through Monday from 10 am to 6 pm beginning April 1st.
