Beckley’s Shop-Small Extravaganza
Nothing helps Christmas shopping more than unique shops and lots of deals. Fortunately, Beckley will have plenty of both on Shop Small Saturday.
Pop-up shops
Thanks to the Downtown Beckley Business Association, holiday shopping is really convenient. They’ll host Shop Small Saturday in the Grant Building on Nov. 25, where the city’s best merchants will gather from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It’s like a one-stop artisan marketplace! Visit early— the first 200 shoppers will get special tote bags and giveaways.
As a fun bonus, Beckley Stratton Middle School students (in conjunction with the Community Transformation Project) will unveil their 3D printing business. It’s one of the latest economic endeavors to emerge from The Hive, Beckley’s small-business initiative. Money raised from the kids’ key chains and crafts will fund scholarships. It’s also fascinating technology, so take a peek!
Shop around the block
Plenty more opportunities await you outside the Grant Building, too. The Downtown Beckley Business Association will also promote shops along Main and Neville streets.
Participating stores include:
- Tickety Boo Mercantile
- Dragon’s Den Comics and Games
- Brown Dog Bottom
- The Consignment Company on Main
- Kilted Barber
- Beckley Art Center
- Melody’s
- Roma’s Pizza
- Sir Walter’s Tavern
- On Point Acupuncture
- Grand Food Bazaar
If you have kids in tow, they’ll have something to do while you shop. Beckley Rocks! will hide painted pebbles inside participating stores. Keep your eyes peeled while walking outside, too.
Even if you’re not much of a shopper, come downtown anyway! Beckley’s Christmas window decorating contest will make your spirits bright. You can vote for your favorite display by Nov. 25.
