Appalachian Festival Celebrates the Best of the Region!

Generations of families across Appalachia have helped shape the region’s diverse culture and history. As a celebration of that storied heritage, the Appalachian Festival in Beckley has honored the region annually for 21 years now.

The festival takes place August 24-26 and will feature arts, crafts, music, history and more. Events, as part of the Appalachian Festival, will be happening throughout Beckley and Raleigh County.

Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center

One of the main events of the festival is the arts and crafts fair at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center. There will be over 100 vendors featured showcasing their talent, including woodworking, quilts, sculptures and more for sale. While you shop, there will be live music and food vendors throughout the center as well.

In conjunction with the arts and crafts fair, the The Appalachian Treasures Quilt Show will showcase the talents of the region’s finest quiltmakers. Competing in different categories, quilters will enter their creations to see who ranks among the best.

Admission to the arts and crafts fair is $5 for adults; children 12 and under are admitted free. Hours for the show are as follows:

  • Friday, August 24, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 25, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Sunday, August 26, 12 p.m.-5 p.m.
