Festival Features

The rugged mountains of Southern West Virginia make the ideal landscape for an incredible Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) motorcycle race! The Mountaineer GNCC will take place on September 11 at 1 p.m. The course will be made up of a mix of tight and technical trails and will be a tough but exciting event. Hit some of the reserve’s trails yourself with the West Virginia Jeep Club. The Off-Road and Overland Experience will be happening during the festival on September 9-12. Other festival features include fishing, hiking and a one-of-a-kind immersive experience in the Scouts’ sustainability treehouse.

The Adventure On! Festival will be highlighting West Virginia’s Celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Days — the state’s largest outdoor hunting and fishing show. The family-friendly event will feature big buck and trophy fish displays, vendors and the Outdoor Youth Challenge (a youth expo and competition for children between the ages of 6-18). During the challenge, young people can experience activities and displays with real hands-on learning and instructional opportunities that will encourage them to gain important knowledge about wildlife, hunting, fishing, firearms safety and outdoor recreation. The youth challenge activities include wildlife identification, boating and water safety, knot tying, bow fishing, archery and more.

Additional Activities

Add a few extra activities to your weekend! From climbing at Boulder Cove to navigating your way through the Action Point Challenge Courses to hanging out on the water with a kayak rental, there are endless options to enjoy.
