Summertime is the time to be on the trail. Whether you hike with the rising sun or in the mid-day heat, summertime is the right time to walk, run or bike in Southern West Virginia.

Here’s a beautiful creature we waded upstream around a bend to find recently. We literally dropped our rods to start filming. Always remember folks freedom isn’t free, freedom isn’t given, it’s WON. Once the most booming of coal and railroad towns in the nation, Thurmond was abandoned for decades. The rich history of coal mining, industrial development and wealth was visible as trains hauled tons of coal through Thurmond daily during the boom years.
